My 2025 Vision Board

I used to struggle with making a vision board--but this year my mindset and method changed!

Year after year, I saw videos and posts about how others made their vision boards. I would attempt to make one myself inevitably. However, I would always end up stumped or disappointed! This is for a two reasons: I didn't have clear goals/vision for the year and my format of choice always felt restrictive.

Goals--in my opinion--are not hard to make. However, to make meaningful one takes some serious consideration and time. This year, I was really inspired by Ali Abdaal's Youtube videos and book Feel Good Productivity. If you are struggling with getting those goals to paper (or digitized), then I would recommend starting there! I have Cal Newport's books on deck too and have a feeling that I will be diving into Slow Productivity: The Lost Art of Accomplishment Without Burnout soon. 😅

Now for format: I used to stick to the classic cut out or Pinterest board. As print magazines have become less common, I had a harder time collecting images that resonated with me and my goals. So, almost immediate failure there. I love Pinterest...but not for vision boards. I love the wide array of options of photos, but the layout just always feels disjointed (the closest I felt like I got was putting it on condensed view, but then volume of pins would have to be much higher for my standard of completion and still didn't always mesh seamlessly). And sure, Pinterest has Shuffles and Cutouts now that mimic more of that magazine cutout method. In my opinion, their user interface just has a few more updates needed before it would work as fluidly as I would want.

This is where my good friend Canva comes in. I copied images from my Pinterest board and just started dumping them into an empty project. I started with my favorites and those that represented my largest goals; and once those were set, I mixed in quotes and other smaller images to really set the right energy and vibe.

I used to think vision boards just weren't for me, but now my mindset has totally changed! I love mine and really appreciate the energy and focus it gives me. Did I mention it's also my phone background now? I never thought I would be that girl, but it really helps to see the reminder of what brings me joy and what I am working towards each day.

Do you have your vision board created?
